When passing from one substance to another, the light ray deviates from a straight direction at a certain angle. Thanks to the refractometer, the incident light, passing through the substance and the prism, is refracted at a sufficiently large angle. A refractometer is used to measure the concentration of liquids or solutions by the refractive index of light.
